I am a keen IT professional looking to pursue an exciting career in IT networking. I have 15 years wide ranging IT experience including IT support, documentation, application development etc with a focus on Systems and Network administration.
For the last 5 years I have worked for S. A. Brain in Cardiff where I gained significant exposure to many technologies including working in the systems & networking team to satisfy all the infrastructure needs for the S A Brain business. This included all server installation, maintenance and support of both hardware and server software such as Windows Server Operating Systems, Exchange, SQL Server and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. Additionally it was the teams responsibility to design and implement the networking infrastructure to support four remote depots and 120 public houses. A significant part of the work involved field based work including travelling to many of the S. A. Brain public houses to install and configure networking and telephony equipment, including configuring secure communication links between the head office and remote sites.
My recent focus has to brush up on some skills and gain some new certifications. Starting in September 2009 I have gained the ITIL V3 Foundation, CCNA, CCNA Voice and CCNA Security certifications, all to a very high standard. I found the networking aspects of my job particularly exciting and interesting, my short to medium term goals are to get a junior position in the networking field and to gain a CCNP qualification in the next 12-24 months.
